Sharpe-Walentas Studio plans to provide rent-free studio space to 17 visual artists for a year-long residency in Brooklyn, New York’s DUMBO neighborhood: home to art galleries, independent restaurants and shops, and creative professionals. Studio apartments are located close to parks, the city’s waterfront, and multiple modes of transportation.<\/p>\n

The artist studio is open 24\/7 and features freight and passenger elevators and high ceilings.<\/p>\n

The 2025-2026 Sharpe-Valentas Studio Program residency will run from September 2025 to August 2026, with an Open Studio Weekend planned for spring 2026. The Sharpe-Valentas Studio Program has provided working studio space and community for artists since 1991.<\/p>\n

Artists are selected annually based on performance among a highly competitive pool of applicants by a professional jury composed of artists and members of the Artist Advisory Committee. <\/p>\n
