Our members seek to negotiate a more equitable, inclusive and transparent workplace,&#8221; the social media post said.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-1    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p>According to a union spokesman interviewed <em>allergic<\/em> In December, the new unit will represent about 55 of the museum&#8217;s 72 employees. The workers were organized with United Auto Workers Local 2110, which covers employees at institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.<\/p>\n<p>In another post on Jan. 8, the first of two election days, the union said it would work to ensure &#8220;a fair grievance process with the right to appeal to an external neutral arbitrator.&#8221; Other identified priority issues include fair wages and pay rises, the &#8220;remediation&#8221; of health and safety issues and preventing discrimination.<\/p>\n<aside>\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p>&#8220;The Noguchi Museum recognizes and respects our employees&#8217; decision to form a union,&#8221; a museum spokesman said in a statement. <em>allergy. <\/em>\u201cWe look forward to a constructive and open collaboration with Local 2110.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Part-time and full-time employees are eligible to join a union regardless of their role, forming what is sometimes called a &#8220;wall-to-wall&#8221; union. <\/p>\n<p>Workers first announced on Dec. 2 that they had filed for a union election with the NLRB, months after the agency imposed a controversial ban. <em>scarf<\/em> provided to employees last summer.<\/p>\n<p>In August, more than 50 Noguchi Museum staff signed a letter calling for a reversal of a new policy that prohibits employees from wearing the Arab headscarf, a symbol of Palestinian liberation. Weeks later, three staff members were fired for not complying with the dress code, a move that sparked protests including Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri&#8217;s refusal to be awarded the agency&#8217;s &#8220;socially aware and functionally important&#8221; award.
