From candlelit bathrooms to kitchens bathed in natural light, the artist creates delightful scenes that reflect Hockney\u2019s tranquil surroundings.<\/p>\n
Kane recently held a solo exhibition, \u201cGreen Stairs and Yellow Roses\u201d at the MASSIMODECARLO Pi\u00e8ce Unique gallery in Paris, which featured two new paintings inspired by his hometown in East Sussex. Scottish artist Caroline Walker explores the inner lives of women in her intimate paintings, revealing the often unseen labour that takes place in domestic settings. Walker\u2019s subjects are anonymous and reflect everyday life \u2013 whether they are service workers, carers or mothers.<\/p>\n
Walker\u2019s Sunset series, which debuted in 2018 as part of a solo exhibition at Anat Ebgi, delves into the life of a former beauty queen living in the Hollywood Hills. By depicting warm California evenings and playful poolside moments\u2014a common setting in Hockney\u2019s work\u2014the artist offers a fragmented view into the subject\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Buckminster Fuller, as well as the architecture of the 1960s and 1970s, British artist Charlotte Keates\u2019s paintings of interiors blur the line between reality and the grotesque. Using meticulous line work, Keates creates flat compositions that reference the sunken living rooms and split-level designs of mid-century modern. From mottled floors to tiled walls, her paintings are filled with rhythmic patterns on surfaces, all awash in bright colors. <\/p>\n
As the title of her painting Silent spectator<\/em> (2024) shows that Kitts invites the viewer to observe her imaginary scenes like a voyeur. These scenes are completely devoid of people, prompting speculation about the narrative beyond the frame.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n\n

Daniel Heidkamp\u2019s otherworldly landscapes and interiors, set against a backdrop of mountains and rolling valleys, capture the magic of fleeting moments. Inspired by his travels and art-historically significant landscapes\u2014from the French town of Ceret, where Pablo Picasso once worked, to the artist colony of Gloucester, Massachusetts\u2014the New York-based painter takes viewers on a journey through quaint villages and seaside towns. Heidkamp\u2019s canvases are saturated with color, drawing on the tradition of Fauvism\u2014an influence he shares with Hockney.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Guy Yanai’s collages are colorful and rich in texture, bringing everyday objects and spaces to life.
