\tMegan Mulrooney, former senior director of Nino Mier Gallery, will open her own open gallery in three Los Angeles spaces run by her former employer.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cAs a native Angeleno, I wanted my gallery to reflect the creative spirit and rich artistic tradition of Los Angeles,\u201d Mulroney told Art News<\/em> \u201cI aspire to create a space that fosters community and intergenerational dialogue, bringing together established and emerging artists to showcase not only their diverse practices but also their curatorial visions,\u201d she wrote in an email.<\/p>\n \t\trelated articles<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \n \tNino Mier Gallery closed its Los Angeles space earlier this year due to The Art Newspaper<\/em> published a report accusing dealer Nino Mier of underpaying artists. The gallery later said it would investigate the allegations. <\/p>\n \n \tShortly thereafter, Mir announced that he would close his Los Angeles gallery, a move he wrote was “a strategic business decision made after some time of careful consideration and unrelated to recent media coverage.” His gallery continues to operate spaces in New York and Brussels.<\/p>\n \n \tMulroney\u2019s gallery will be housed in three of the four spaces previously operated by Mir, who she joined as director in 2018. She was later promoted to senior director in 2022.<\/p>\n \n \tAt Nino Mier, Mulrooney spearheaded the opening of the gallery\u2019s West Hollywood space and the launch of its artist residency program in Cologne, Germany, and previously held positions at Paddle8 and Sotheby\u2019s.<\/p>\n \n \tA spokesperson for Mulrooney told Art News<\/em> Mier is not affiliated with her new gallery, formally known as the Megan Mulrooney Gallery, which will open its first show on Sept. 14 with solo exhibitions by artists Piper Bangs and Marin Majic.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
