As 2025 Begins: Reflecting on Judit Nagy L.’s Artistic Journey

The arrival of a new year provides an opportunity to reflect on the artists who created interesting works in 2024. Among them, Judit Nagy L. stands out as an artist whose works blend personal transformation with innovative techniques. Born in Slovakia, a country rich in history and tradition, Judit saw the world as a canvas of endless possibilities. Her passion for art flourished in her early years, nurtured through public art schools and private studios.

However, life took her down a different path. She pursued civil engineering, earning a Master’s degree, building a family, and launching entrepreneurial ventures. Despite her accomplishments, Judit felt an undeniable void—a longing to reconnect with the creativity that had once defined her.

That longing led her to the Camino de Santiago, an 800-kilometer pilgrimage through Spain. This transformative journey not only tested her endurance but also reignited her artistic spirit. Now living in Switzerland, Judit has developed the “IVVArt – In Vino Veritas Art Method ©,” an innovative approach that incorporates unconventional materials like wine, earth, and homeopathically infused paints. Her work embodies deeply personal narratives and invites viewers into a world of introspection and connection.

    Judit Nagy L.’s Artistic Creations

    “Rise Like a Phoenix”

    Mixed Media on Canvas – 65 W x 105 H x 1.5 D cm

In “Rise Like a Phoenix,” Judit breathes new life into the mythical bird, transforming it into a symbol of renewal and growth. The phoenix is depicted not as a conventional creature but as an ethereal embodiment of fire. Its back is adorned with the image of an exploded star—a Nebula of Love—symbolizing the expansive possibilities of transformation and the power of vulnerability.

The piece is alive with movement, conveyed through swirling textures and dynamic forms. Judit’s use of wine and earth creates an organic, tactile quality, grounding the mythical imagery in something tangible. The vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold echo the warmth of fire and the infinite expanse of the cosmos.

The painting captures the fragility and resilience of transformation. It encourages viewers to reflect on their own journeys, asking them to embrace openness and change as pathways to renewal.

    “The Hymn of Rebirth”

    Mixed Media, Acrylic on Acrylic – 78.5 W x 108.5 H x 5 D cm

“The Hymn of Rebirth” delves into the unseen forces that shape existence. Featured in Judit’s trilingual book, CORPUS HERMETICUM (Another Way), the piece serves as both a visual exploration and a philosophical statement.

The layered composition, created using acrylic and mixed media, offers a textured surface that invites prolonged observation. Light and shadow interplay across the canvas, evoking a celestial atmosphere that suggests the mysteries of the universe. Each detail seems to hint at something hidden, encouraging viewers to uncover its meanings.

Judit describes the painting as an exploration of the forces that govern the visible and invisible realms. A striking beam of light cuts through the canvas, symbolizing moments of clarity amidst the chaos of life. The use of resonance gouache and homeopathically infused materials adds depth and an almost meditative quality to the piece.

Rather than presenting answers, “The Hymn of Rebirth” asks questions. It invites viewers to consider their place within the cosmic order, fostering a dialogue between the tangible and the metaphysical.

A Vision of Art as Transformation

Judit Nagy L. approaches art as both a deeply personal practice and a universal medium for connection. Her “IVVArt” method exemplifies this philosophy, blending natural and unconventional materials to create works that resonate on multiple levels.

Her pieces are more than visual experiences—they are calls to introspection and self-discovery. Whether through the mythological renewal in “Rise Like a Phoenix” or the contemplative depth of “The Hymn of Rebirth,” Judit’s work offers a space for reflection and transformation.

For Judit, art transcends its traditional boundaries. It becomes a way of understanding life’s complexities, navigating personal challenges, and celebrating the interconnectedness of existence. Her creations are a testament to the power of creativity to heal, inspire, and illuminate new perspectives, making her journey as an artist a story worth revisiting as the year unfolds.
