Pace Gallery CEO’s Palm Beach home listed

Marc Glimcher, president and CEO of Pace Gallery, is selling his Palm Beach home for $24.95 million with Sotheby’s International Realty.

Built in the 1930s, this six-bedroom, waterfront Art Moderne residence, known as the “Boathouse,” was the first home designed by architect Belford Shoumate in Palm Beach, Florida. The 4,848-square-foot home features a unique nautical design with teak floors, porthole windows, and exposed railings. Located on Lake Way, the home has 65 feet of water frontage and access to the Intracoastal Waterway.

Shumate’s design was his first commission in Palm Beach in 1937 and marked a departure from the Mediterranean style popular in the area. Originally named “Fore and Aft,” the home was landmarked in 1987 and remains a significant Art Deco building in Palm Beach. It features light-filled rooms, a pool terrace and a 65-foot-long boat dock. The home’s bow features a semicircular living room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the pool.

In 2017, Todd Glaser and his wife Kim bought the house and restored it, winning the Preservation Foundation’s Polly Earle Award. In 2021, Glimcher purchased the house for $14.3 million and added modern upgrades such as new air conditioning and an infrared sauna. Originally listed in 2023 for $30 million, the price was adjusted by current marketers John and Lisa Cregan of Sotheby’s International Realty.
