Anton Van Dalen, a New York artist known for his dreamy cityscapes and depictions of the East Village, died on June 25 at the age of 86. His gallery, PPOW, confirmed his death in a statement, noting that he died in his sleep of natural causes at his East Village home. Jacqueline de Jong, a Dutch painter who devoted 60 years to figurative painting even when it was not valued by the art world, died on Saturday in Amsterdam after a brief illness. Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have announced that their art exhibition “Giant: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” will travel the world. International fashion brand H&M has teamed up with the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat and luxury streetwear brand Who Decides War to launch a new clothing line. Unveiled in Paris on June 19, the collection celebrates Basquiat’s influence on contemporary culture.
