The San Francisco Art Book Fair (SFABF) has announced the seventh annual multi-day exhibition at Minnesota Street Projects, showcasing print from independent publishers, artists, designers, collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world. SFABF will be open July 19-21, with a preview on Thursday, July 18 from 6-10 p.m., free and open to the public.
SFABF puts the unique Bay Area history and perspectives in dialogue with the national and international publishing community. The fair features artist books, art catalogs, monographs, journals, magazines, prints and multi-artist pieces presented by 145 publishers, antique dealers, artists and galleries from the Bay Area and beyond.
In addition to the 85 exhibitors at 1275 Minnesota Street, 45 publishers dedicated to making and publishing books in an accessible way will exhibit at 1150 25th Street, Building B, Suite B, while 1201 Minnesota Street will host pop-up programming and rotating guest artists. Throughout the weekend, SFABF will feature lectures, discussions, book launches, special programs, and signings, curated by David Senior, Director of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) Library and Archives. Kenyatta AC Hinkle, aka Olomidara Yaya, will read live Disappearing [Tarot Deck + Guidebook], New book inspired by Hinkle/Yaya Evanest seriesPresented by KACH Studio Press and Sming Sming Books. SFABF will also offer a fundraising edition featuring a limited edition lenticular print of Heesoo Kwon produced by Lightsource SF, and a Risograph print of Craig Calderwood.
SFABF is hosted by the Minnesota Street Project Foundation, whose mission is to help sustain the creation and distribution of print materials by supporting the independent publishing community in the Bay Area and beyond, and to expand our reach to new audiences.
